Political activities in top gear in Maharashtra, Haryana & AP ahead of polls

Political activities are in top gear in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh ahead of the ensuing Assembly polls. The filing of nominations has gathered momentum though most of the parties are yet to finalize their lists of candidates.<br/> <br/>While the BJP and Shiv Sena have reached an electoral understanding in the politically sensitive Maharashtra, the seat sharing between NCP and Congress in the State is yet to be finalized. The Central Election Committee of the Congress party is now in session in New Delhi to finalize the list of candidates for Maharashtra. The two parties have decided to have a joint manifesto. The BJP has released the first list of 66 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections which includes the daughter of late Pramod Mahajan. So far Eighty-three candidates have filed their nominations in the State. <br/> <br/>In Haryana, Indian National Lok Dal and Akali Dal (Badal) have also reached a seat-sharing arrangement while Haryana Janhit Congress has an alliance with the BJP. The Congress party is contesting the polls of its own. Twenty-eight candidates have filed nominations so far in the State. <br/> <br/>In Arunachal Pradesh, the Trinamul Congress has released a list of 26 candidates for the coming polls. The Congress, BJP and JD(U) are also in the fray. <br/> <br/>The voting for the three Assemblies will be held on the 13th of next month. Counting of votes will take place on the 22nd of next month.
