Minister for IT and Law Ravi Shankar Prasad today said that policing must match with latest digital technology in the fast changing global scenario. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the two-day National Conference for Young Superintendents of Police of States and Union Territories and Commandants of Central Armed Police Forces in New Delhi today, Mr Prasad said, Digital Governance is Good Governance and Police Officers of all levels must be trained on cyber challenges.<br/><br/> He said, India is changing the digital discourse of the world through the Digital India initiative and the main objective is to break the digital divide. The Minister said, 3 crore fake gas connections and 2.5 crore fake ration cards were caught after AADHAAR seeding. <br/><br/>Mr Prasad said, AADHAAR is all about digital identity of citizens and digital identity does not lie. He said, digital Payments have crossed 5 thousand crore rupees and 68 crores accounts have been linked with AADHAAR.<br/><br/>Speaking on trolling of women in Social Media, Mr Prasad said, Government will sensitise social media platforms on the issue. He said, the Government is committed for a making a safe and secure Digital India. <br/>The Bureau of Police Research and Development, BPR&D is organizing the Conference with the theme Technological Empowerment for Impactful Policing. The participants of the conference includes 5 SPs and 5 Commandant rank officers of Central Armed Police Forces from each State and one SP rank officer from each UT. <br/><br/>The conference includes various sessions on topics like Technology for Police, Operations and Technology, Police-Media Interface, Delivery of Citizen Centric Services and Syndicate Group discussion and presentations.
