In Jharkhand, Police opened fire to disperse aggressive protestors in Dhanbad, opposing the administration move to remove encroachments from the land of the Central Government PSU – Bharat Coking Coalfield Ltd. A large number of protestors started throwing stones, in which the SP and the DSP were also injured. Police opened several rounds of fire in which few people have been injured. All the shops on the major roads of Dhanbad have been closed after and protestors have blocked the Bokaro-Dhanbad highway. On Tuesday, the Jharkhand High Court had observed that Central government PSUs in the state are not serious in removing encroachments from their land, and a team of High Court itself will inspect the progress made so far in removing the encroachments.
