In Odisha, at least 11 people were injured when police lath charged to disperse agitators protesting against the detention of about 30 people for suspected links with Maoists at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district. Police said, the incident took place when a large number of people, including women, demonstrated near Daringbadi block office against the detention which was made after Maoists ambushed a team of securitymen on Monday, killing one of them.
