Police encounter leaves four Maoists dead in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, four Maoists have been killed in an encounter with the police forces in Sarnda forests under Manoharpur block in West Singhbhum district. Two policemen have been killed and one assistant commandant of CRPF Cobra Battalion Nitish Kumar was injured in the encounter which continued till late last night. The injured police officer has been admitted to Raurkela hospital. Acting on a tip that nearly 400 Maoists were taking part in a training camp in the dense forest, the police forces of Jharkhand, Orissa and CRPF cordoned off the area. The Maoists blew seven land mines and police force also retaliated. According to the Police spokesperson and IG Operation Jharkhand R.K. Malik the forces have recovered huge amount of arms and ammunition and destroyed the training camp. The search and combing operation is still on. In another incident, the police has recovered a mini gun factory in the Hotai village under Panki police station of Palamu district.
