In Afghanistan, the police chief of northern region and three German soldiers were among seven people killed in a suicide bombing at the Takhar governor's office yesterday. Ten others were injured, including the Governor. Qutbuddin Kamal, a senior aide to provincial governor Abdul Jabar Taqwa, confirmed that the provincial police chief General Daoud, a former deputy interior minister was killed and the governor injured. He said, there was a meeting about security at the complex where the governor's office is located. At the end of the meeting, when the participants were leaving, a suicide bomber waiting in the corridor blew himself up. The attacker was wearing Afghan police uniform. A spokesman for the Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack.
