Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today directed to set up special police teams and asked city police to nab those responsible for the murder of senior crime journalist Jyotirmay Dey at the earliest. The directions were issued in an emergency meeting called by the Chief Minister at his official residence Varsha, in Mumbai today afternoon. State Home Minister R. R. Patil, Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and order) Rajnish Seth and several senior government officers attended the meeting. It was also decided that J.Dey’s family will be provided police protection. His body was cremated today at the Rajawadi crematorium in Ghatkopar, in Mumbai. Meanwhile Journalist organisations have called for protest rally demanding timely action against the culprits at Mantralay in Mumbai tomorrow.
