In Odisha, police have arrested nine employees of a Hyderabad-based private construction company including the Chief Execuitve Officer (CEO) on charges of supplying explosives to Maoists in Malkangiri district. They were held with 50 kg of improvised explosive devices, gelatin powder, potassium nitrate and a large amount of Maoist literature.Malkangiri Superitentdent of Police, Akhilesh Singh said, the company allegedly agreed to supply explosives to Maoists on the Andhra-Odisha border area in exchange for letting work of the company to continue at all its sites. The company was incurring heavy losses due to delay in implementing project works.The company officials have, however, denied the charges saying the explosives were meant for construction and that they were not connected to Maoists in any manner.
