In Chennai today, Poland's grandmaster Swiercz Dariusz won the title in the 50th World Junior Open chess championships. Robert Hovhannisyan of Armenia finished second for the silver, while Delhi's Sahaj Grover bagged the bronze with a grandmaster norm to his credit. In the 29th World Junior Girls Championship, Peruvian Woman Grand Master Cori T Deysi emerged champion. India's best bet, Woman Grand Master Padmini Rout finished fourth. Russian Girya Olga who lost to Rout in the final round, got the Silver.
