Poland has supported India's bid for permanent membership of the expanded United Nations Security Council. Addressing media after delegation level talks with the Polish Prime Minister Beata Szyd?o in Warsaw, the visiting Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari said, Poland has also reiterated its support to New Delhi's bid for membership in the elite Nuclear Suppliers Group, NSG.<br/><br/>He also appreciated the support extended by Poland to India's membership of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). He said, Poland agrees with India on early adoption of Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) at the UN.<br/><br/>Having a strong economic tie with Poland, the Vice President said, bilateral relations should be enhanced to a higher level. He said, during the talks both the countries have agreed to work on regional and international issues of common interest.<br/><br/>India and Poland signed a major agreement in agriculture today. The agreement was signed by Giriraj Singh, Minister of State of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises from the Indian side and Krzysztof Jurgiel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from the Polish side.<br/><br/>It envisages cooperation in agriculture through exchange of information, research and technologies and the formation of a special Joint Working Group to oversee this cooperation. This agreement is expected to give further momentum to agriculture development in both countries.
