Pol. leaders slam Bal Thackeray for his remark on Tendulkar

Several political parties and cricketing fraternity have come down heavily on Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray's criticism of Sachin Tendulkar on his Mumbai for all remark. Strongly criticising Thackeray's comments, Congress spokesperson, Manish Tiwari said these remarks are totally uncalled for and unwarranted. <br/>CPIM Politburo Member, Brinda Karat said, Sachin as a citizen has every right to make such a comment.<br/><br/>Disagreeing with Thackarey's remark, Arun Jaitley of BJP said that there is nothing wrong in Sachin's statement whom he described as a great cricketer. JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar maintained that the revered cricketer had in fact earned more respect through his remark. <br/><br/>The Indian cricket board also reacted angrily to the Sena Chief's comments. BCCI Vice President, Rajiv Shulka demanded that Thackeray should be brought to book for his verbal attack on Tendulkar. Our correspondent reports that Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has come in full support of Sachin.<br/>
