Pol. leaders slam Bal Thackeray for his remark on Tendulkar saying "Mumbai for all"

Several political parties and cricketing fraternity have come down heavily on Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray's criticism of Sachin Tendulkar on his Mumbai for all remark. <br/>Strongly criticising Thackeray's comments, the Congress spokesperson, Mr. Manish Tiwari said these remars are totally uncalled for and unwarranted. He said that the parties which satiate their political ambitions by raising narrow identity based issues insult the unity,diversity and the pluralism of India.<br/>Mr. Tiwari said the people have overwhelmingly rejected this sort of divisive ideology. The CPIM Politburo Member, Mrs. Brinda Karat said, Sachin as a citizen has every right to make such a comment. She said that not only the whole of India, but a very large majority of people in Mumbai believe that the city belongs to the whole India.<br/>Disagreeing with Thackarey's remark, Arun Jaitley of BJP said that there is nothing wrong in Sachin's statement whom he described as a great cricketer. The RJD leader and former Union Minister, Mr. Lalu Prasad said that It is Thackeray's habit to make such remarks.. He said, what Sachin said is right. <br/>The JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar maintained that the revered cricketer had in fact earned more respect through his remark. <br/>The Indian cricket board also reacted angrily to the Sena supremo's comments. BCCI Vice President, Rajiv Shulka demanded that Thackeray should be brought to book for his verbal attack on Tendulkar. The Shiv Sena supremo, Bal Thackeray in an editorial in the party mouth piece Samna, had said, Sachin Tandulkar by making his " Mumbai for All Remark" not pleased Marathi people and that there was no need for Tendulkar to hurt the Marathi sentiments.<br/><br/>
