The BJP today said, the Punjab National Bank fraud case happened in the UPA regime in 2011. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, it is a scam related to the banking system and the government has nothing to do with it. <br/><br/>He said, it is alertness of the NDA government which has brought this scam to light. He said, the government has acted swiftly in the case and seized properties of jeweller Nirav Modi worth more than 5,100 crore rupees as soon as the matter came to its notice. <br/><br/>Mr Javadekar said, the case is being investigated and the government will ensure that the money is recovered. He accused the Congress of destroying the whole banking system adding that the all the loans have converted into NPAs in the UPA regime. <br/><br/>On Congress' allegations, Prakash Javadekar said, its President Rahul Gandhi is out on bail in the National Herald case.
