PM’s two-day visit to Odisha begins today

Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, is coming on a two-day visit to Odisha from today.He is scheduled to inaugurate the 99th Indian Science Congress tomorrow at Bhubaneswar.15,000 delegates including 20 Nobel Prize winner scientists across the globe will be attending the five-day long Indian Science Congress.The Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit the Congress Bhawan at Bhubaneswar during the Odisha visit and meet senior party leaders of the state.The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has decided to submit a memorandum to Dr. Singh on the large-scale corruption by the Biju Janata Dal government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Odisha. Besides, it will also draw the attention of the Prime Minister on siphoning of Central funds in Odisha and spread of Maoist activities to most parts of the the state.Elaborate security arrangments have been made for the visit of the Prime Minister. As many as 125 officers and 35 platoon security forces have been deployed for Dr Singh's visit.
