Prime Minister Narendra Modi today cancelled his scheduled visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi after death of a laborer under 'unfortunate circumstances' at rally venue in Varanasi. <br/><br/>Expressing condolences over the death of the worker, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal said that the labour died due to electric shock while working in the main venue of the programme at DLW ground in Varanasi today. <br/><br/>While addressing media persons in Varanasi this afternoon, the Union Minister announced Rs 7,50000 as financial assistance on behalf of power finance cooperation (PFC) for the bereaved family .The PFC was organizer of the today's programme. <br/><br/>Mr. Goyal said that Prime Minster Narendra Modi also expressed his grief and sorrow over this unfortunate incident and due to this incident Prime Minister today's programme was cancelled. He said that the programme will decide after consultation with prime minister. <br/><br/>Prime Minister was scheduled to launch Integrated Power Development Scheme, IPDS aimed at providing affordable, reliable and round the clock power supply to urban areas. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister was also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for Varanasi ring-road phase-one and also to inaugurate the super specialty trauma centre and hospital at Banaras Hindu University.Meanwhile district administration has ordered for magistrate inquiry in this incident. It has been raining heavily in Varanasi since last night.<br/><br/>This is the second time Prime Minister's visit to Varanasi was put off in about a month's time. The earlier visit could not take place due to inclement weather in Varanasi.
