PM’s advisor Nair hold discussions with J&K Governor

Advisor to the Prime Minister, T.K.A. Nair held discussions with Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N.N. Vohra at Raj Bhavan, Jammu on Thursday evening and today afternoon, before his return to Delhi. During their two meetings, the Governor and Mr. Nair discussed wide-ranging issues relating to the measures required for securing the rapid development of the State on all fronts, particularly with reference to power, water, roads and bridges, education and health.

They also discussed matters relating to early establishment of urban and rural local self-governing institutions and steps required to promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of the governmental apparatus. Earlier, Mr. Nair held a meeting with State Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and discussed various matters relating to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for approving an amount of about 1900 crore rupees under RAPDRP in the power sector and also laid stress on sanctioning of 10,460 new Anganwari Centres for which State Government has put up a proposal to the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development.
