PMO seeks report from Odisha govt on Dana Majhi case

The Odisha government has received a letter from Prime Minister's office on Dana Majhi case, in which the tribal man shouldered his wife's body for 10 kilometres after being denied a hearse at the district headquarters hospital at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district of the State. The letter, received yesterday, has asked Odihsa government to explain why the incident happened. <br/><br/>The ruling party spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb informing this to media said the State government would submit the report on the incident soon. Earlier, the Odisha State Human Rights Commission, taking a suo motu cognizance of the incident has already sought a report from the District Collector and asked to reply within four weeks.
