The Prime Minister's Office has called upon Indian Industry to join hands in the efforts towards rehabilitation and rebuilding the livelihood of the people as well and infrastructure destroyed in the recent flash floods in Leh and Kargil . Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Mr. TKA Nair, met with the office bearers of CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI and SCOPE, and asked for their support towards this end . The Prime Minister has already sanctioned 125 crore rupees for rebuilding of houses, hospitals, water supply, and power supply. Dr Manmohan Singh has also given directions that the houses should be rebuilt before the onset of the winter and that he would visit the area again to ensure that this was done. Mr Nair mentioned that while there was no shortage of funds what was needed from industry was the, pooling together of knowledge and implementation resources, to ensure, that the target of rehabilitation of the population before winter was met. The Industries Associations assured the Prime Minister's Office that they will spare no effort to assist. .
