PMO rubbishes media reports on alleged misconduct of HM's son

The Prime Minister's Office today rubbished media reports about alleged misconduct of Home Minister Rajnath Singh's son Pankaj Singh.

The PMO in a statement dubbed these reports as plain lies, motivated and malicious attempt to tarnish the image of the government.

The statement came in the wake of a media report that Rajnath Singh was unhappy over rumours about his son being pulled up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over some alleged misconduct.

The PMO said, those indulging in such rumour-mongering were damaging the interest of the nation.

Meanwhile, Congress today demanded that BJP should come out with an unambiguous clarification relating to allegations against Home Minister Rajnath Singh's son Pankaj Singh.

Party spokesperson Ajay Maken said in New Delhi that Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister should tell the nation what are the allegations that they have denied.

He said, in the public interest, Congress wants to know the real issue behind the entire episode.

BJP President Amit Shah has described the allegation of misconduct against Home Minister Rajnath Singh's son as baseless and an attempt to malign the image of the party.

In a statement Shah said that Singh has been in public life for long as the BJP President, Union Minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and he discharged his responsibility with high credibility.

He said Rajnath Singh's son Pankaj Singh has also been a devoted party worker in UP for the last ten years.

Shah said it is an effort to deviate the peoples' attention from the development agenda of Narendra Modi government but it will not succeed.

He also said the conduct of all Union Ministers of NDA government are of high standard and beyond any doubt.

Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the government has clarified its stand on the issue by its immediate communication to the people.

He alleged that UPA government used to keep quite on several scams but NDA has explained all the facts before the people about the allegation against Rajnath Singh's son.
