Prime Ministers Office has ordered an internal inquiry into the lapse in the advertisement issued by the Women and Child Development Ministry on National Girl Child Day. PMO also apologized for inclusion of photograph of a foreign national in Government advertisement on girl child. A newspaper advertisement given by the government today carried a photograph of a former Pakistan Air Force chief along with that of Prime Minister and Congress President. The advertisment has been issued by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity.<br/><br/>Reacting to the mistake, the Minister for Women and Child Development Mrs Krishna Tirath regretted the inclusion of a foreign national in the advertisment and ordered an inquiry into the lapse. She called a meeting of the senior officials of her Ministry to find out at what stage the mistake has taken place.<br/><br/>Congress spokesmen Manish Tewari, while admitting the lapse has said that the government has already apologised and ordered a probe in the matter.<br/><br/>Meanwhile the BJP strongly criticized the Government on the lapse. The party spokesman Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy sought a thorough enquiry into the lapse.
