In Tamil Nadu, the PMK today demanded that caste wise population census must be undertaken to ensure social justice. <br/><br/>A resolution to this effect was adopted by the party in its general council meeting held in Chennai today. <br/><br/>The party said such a census will help in identifying the castes which have benefited from the schemes formulated by the governments.<br/><br/>In another resolution, the party urged the centre to take immediate steps to pressurize the Sri Lankan government to rehabilitate Tamils still languishing in camps in the island country.<br/><br/>Stating that prices of essential commodities continues to be high, the PMK wanted the central and state government to reduce taxes to benefit the people.<br/><br/>Earlier, the party unanimously reelected Mr G.K. Mani as the president of PMK.
