PM wishes team India all success against Lanka in world Cup final

Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh wished Team India all success as they take on Srilanka in the World Cup cricket final at the Wankhade stadium in Mumbai. Dr. Singh said he hopes the Indian team wins the Cricket World Cup and the whole nation joins in wishing the Indian cricket team. He was speaking on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today.The Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram said that all arrangements have been made for safe and secure conduct of World Cup final. He told reporters in New Delhi today that elaborate security arrnagements have been made for the purpose. A multilayer security is being put in place around the stadium and air space over and around the venue has been declared as a no-flying zone. Mumbai police will be constantly keeping a close watch to check any unlawful activity. One hundred and eighty CCTVs have been installed in and outside the stadium for the purpose.The President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil and her Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa are flying to Mumbai to watch the final match of the World Cup. India will clash with Sri Lanka for the coveted cup at Wankhade stadium. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil along with her Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapakse will join millions of cricket fans to enjoy the tommorow's day-night encounter in the stadium.All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the final match on Medium Wave and FM Gold Channel from 2 P.M. onwards. India are just one win away from crowning themselves as the 2011 ODI World champions after almost 28 years. It is alo another chance for master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to fulfill his 100th century and also the dream of winning the World Cup that has been missing from his collection.The home team backed by wishes of millions of passionate fans and a never-say-die spirit they proved in the semi final against Pakistan. Both India and Sri Lanka, who have played against each other frequently in recent times, have won the coveted trophy once each. Both the teams have some injury concerns, Ashish Nehra, is ruled out because of a finger injury. Similarly, Sri Lanka have injury concerns over Muralitharan and all-rounder Angelo Matthews and have called in Suraj Randiv and Chaminda Vaas as cover. A host of Bollywood celebrities including the three Khans, Shahrukh, Salman and Amir are also expected to cheer the Indian team from the stands. The state government has already declared a holiday tomorrow for all government offices in the city and suburbs.
