The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh visited the Jawaharlal Nehru sports complex, the main venue of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. He oversaw various facilities including playing fields, royal box, stands for spectators, security and other arrangements on Sunday. Dr Singh asked authorities to redouble their efforts to quickly complete the remaining work. He was accompanied by Sports Minister M S Gill and Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi. The main stadium will host the opening and closing ceremony of the Games apart from some athletic events. AIR correspondent reports, Dr Singh's visit comes as part of the series of steps he has taken to streamline and expedite the preparations for the mega event.
