The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh visited Thursday's blast sites at Dilsukhnagar in Hydrabad today to express solidarity with the people of the city and appealed for peace and calm. He lauded the people of the city for refusing to be provoked by the nefarious act.
The Prime Minister also visited hospitals where he met some of the injured and their families, assuring them of all help.
Expressing his condolence for the families of the bereaved, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that he had come to share the grief of people of Hyderabad.
Making an appeal for peace, the Prime Minister called upon the people to maintain calm in this hour of grief. Dr Manmohan Singh said that stringent measures will be taken to prevent terror acts in future. He said there is no difference of opinion over containing terrorism in the country.
Dr. Singh held a review meeting with the Chief Minister and the state ministers during which Director General of Police briefed about the progress of the investigation into the case. Agencies report that the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that about 3,500 closed-circuit cameras were being installed across the state capital to step up surveillance.
