The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Thursday visited the nursing home in Kolkata to see the ailing Marxist leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Jyoti Basu. <br/> <br/>Dr. Singh, accompanied by Union Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and the state Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharya spent some time at the nursing home and inquired about his health. <br/> <br/>Quoting the medical bulletin of the nursing home our Kolkata correspondent Arijit Chakraborty reports that the condition of the veteran Marxist leader continues to be critical. <br/> <br/>No further improvement in his health is seen during the last 12 hours. The BP of Mr. Basu is fluctuating and a tube is being used to give him liquid food. <br/> <br/>A team of doctors is continuously monitoring his health. Mr. Basu has been put under ventilation following deterioration of his condition. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile, prayer meetings are being held in different parts of the state wishing him speedy recovery. A large number of people also thronged the nursing home to get the latest information on the health situation of Mr. Basu.<br/><br/>
