Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said that the country is facing the problem of price rise and urged political parties not to adopt agitational approach on the issue. Reacting to the Left parties' decision to launch a 'Jail Bharo' agitation on Thursday on the price rise, he said that that they should pool their knowledge, wisdom and experience to evolve a pragmatic and practical solution to the issue. Dr Singh was talking to reporters on the sidelines of Padma Awards function in New Delhi.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the Prime Minister will meet the core group of chief ministers on Thursday to discuss steps to tame rising prices to ease the hardships of common man. <br/><br/>The government in February had set up the high-powered core committee comprising Chief Ministers of 10 major states and senior Cabinet ministers to monitor the price situation and suggest corrective measures to check inflation. Chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are members of the core group.<br/><br/>Besides CMs, the other members of committee are Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Food and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia.<br/>
