Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the countrymen over All India Radio for the first time to reach out the people in every nook and corner of the country. In the programme ‘Man Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister exhorted citizens to be a part of the development journey of the country as the nation belongs to them. He said, everyone should join hands with the government to take the country to newer heights.
Advocating the need for use of Khadi products as a homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Mr Modi impressed upon the people to use at least one Khadi product, may it be a handkerchief or even a bed sheet. He said, it will benefit the poor and lit the lamp of prosperity in their life.
Promising to make the Radio broadcast a regular affair at least once or twice in a month on Sunday at 11 A.M, the Prime Minister invited ideas from the citizens. He said, he had been receiving a number of suggestions since it was announced that he would be addressing the nation over Radio. In his 15-minute address, he sought to motivate people to recognise their capabilities and use them for the betterment of the nation. The Prime Minister said, 125 crore Indians are blessed with immense skill and strengths.
Mr Modi also used the opportunity to convey his greetings of Vijaya Dashmi to the people and urged them to take pledge to spread the message of cleanliness.
Regional language version of ‘Man Ki Baat’ programme will be broadcast on AIR regional networks at 8 O'clock this evening. All stations including local radio stations in their regional languages will relay the regional version. News bulletin in English at 08.00 PM, Sports news Bulletin at 08.05 PM and Samachar Darshan at 08.20 PM will be broadcast as usual and will be relayed by Multi channel AIR stations on one of their channels.
