PM, UPA Chairperson and Home Minister appeal people to accept verdict

Leaders cutting across political and religious spectrum appealed for calm on the eve of the verdict on four title suits on the ownership of the 2.7 acre land in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister P Chidambaram appealed to the people to accept the verdict and maintain peace and tranquility.Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Mr. Chidambaram said that the Centre has taken adequate measures and deployed enough security forces all over the country to assist the state governments to maintain peace. He said that all the state governments have been advised to be firm and expressed the confidence that they will be able to maintain public order and peace.
