Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled the trophy for the BRICS Under-17 football tournament, scheduled to be held in Goa from Wednesday. This was stated by the PMO in a statement. Sports Minister, Vijay Goel and the President of the All India Football Federation, Praful Patel, were present on the occasion. The ceremony was also attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners of BRICS nations. Wishing the tournament a grand success, the Prime Minister expressed the confidence that it would meet the objective of facilitating greater understanding and friendship amongst all participants.The 11-day tournament aims at taking the ongoing interaction and cohesion in the BRICS nations to a new level of exchange amongst the youth of these countries in the field of sports.
