Prime Minister Narendra Modi says he is looking forward to a visit to Japan this week.
He said the visit will be an opportunity to take India-Japan ties to a new level and increase cooperation in various fields.
In a series of tweets in Japanese language addressed to the people of Japan, Modi said the visit will be his first outside the subcontinent as the Prime Minister.
Modi will meet Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and will also interact with all sections of Japanese society including students, political leaders and captains of industry during his visit to Tokyo and Kyoto.
