PM to visit Serum Institute in Pune to take stock of production of corona vaccine COVISHIELD

<span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister is expected to fly to Pune, to visit the Serum Institute to get a first hand perspective of the production of corona vaccine COVISHIELD.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Modi will discuss with the concerned officials about the overall supply and distribution system after the successful testing of this vaccine.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to the schedule, after arrival at Lohegaon airport, the Prime Minister will be flown directly to Serum Institute by a special helicopter and will be at the institute for about an hour. The Prime Minister will then leave for NewDelhi from Lohegaon Airport.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It may be noted that the Phase-1 clinical trial of Zydus Cadilla's vaccine candidate ZyCoV-D is over and the pharma company has commenced Phase-2 clinical trials from August. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Bharat Biotech's Covaxin is undergoing Phase-3 trials. Covishield vaccine is currently in the final stage of clinical human trials.The Serum Institute of India has partnered with UK's Oxford University and British-Swedish Pharmaceutical Giant AstraZeneca in the manufacture and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine candidate COVISHIELD in India.</span><br />''  <br />
