PM to unveil Asia's largest optical telescope from Belgium at Nainital

In Uttrakahnd, Asia's largest and first of its kind optical telescope, ARIES will be unveiled today remotely from Belgium by Prime Minister Narender Modi at Devasthal in Nainital District .<br/><br/>Around 4 pm from Belgium, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remotely activate the Aryabhatta Research Institute for Observational Sciences (Aries) telescope along with Belgium Prime Minister Charles Michel. The optical telescope's mirror has a 3.6 m diameter and it will unexplore the astronomical event which has not been seen yet.<br/><br/>It will also help research of star structures and magnetic field structures of stars. Aries telescope has been collaborative effort between Indian, and Belgian scientists. The telescope has been located at a height of 2,500 metres at devasthal in Nainital district.
