Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Myanmar on Tuesday on a three day State visit in the second and final leg of his two nation tour.<br/><br/>He will reach the Capital City of Myanmar Nay Pyi Taw from China. It is Mr Modi's first bilateral visit to Myanmar. Earlier he visited the country in 2014 for ASEAN-India summit. <br/>'<br/>Mr Modi will be accorded ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace in the evening. He will meet Myanmar President Htin Kyaw who is also hosting a banquet for the Prime Minister. On 6th of September, Prime Minister will also hold wide-ranging talks with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. <br/>'<br/>Ministry of External Affairs has expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of Mr Modi to Myanmar will contribute greatly to further strengthening the bilateral ties between these two countries. <br/><br/>Talking exclusively to AIR at Nay Pyi Taw, Sripriya Ranganathan, Joint Secretary in-charge of Bangladesh and Myanmar in the External Affairs Ministry, said, the interaction between the highest political leaders of both sides has been very effective since the new government took over in Myanmar last year. <br/><br/>She said, the visit also provides an opportunity to both the countries to discuss ways to enhance their bilateral trades. After concluding his engagements in Nay Pyi Taw, Mr Modi will then travel to Bagan where India is involved in development cooperation project. He will then travel to Yangon where he will have a series of engagements including interaction with the Indian community. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that during the talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Myanmar leadership both sides are expected to ink various agreements in the fields including Maritime Security , capacity building health.<br/><br/>Besides, ways to deepen security and defence cooperation,and implementation of India-assisted development projects are likely to figure during the talks. <br/><br/>The bilateral trade between the two countries is about 2.2 billion dollars. India has also invested about 750 million dollars in Myanmar by way of public-private sector investment.The visit will provide an opportunity to both sides to discuss ways to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
