Washington is all set to welcome the heads of states and government from over forty countries to the Nuclear Security Summit that will discuss the steps to counter the threat of nuclear terrorism. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister who is on his way to Washington be arriving there on Sunday morning a day before the summit starts .He will have one to one with US President Barrack Obama later in the night on the same day . <br/><br/>AIR correspondent says that India has contributed substantively to the preparation of the summit and took part in all the three meetings of the sherpas to work out the knitty gritties of the summit. <br/><br/>The summit will come out with a communiqu’ endorsing the efforts in reducing the risk of nuclear terrorism and securing nuclear material in four years time. <br/><br/>The first engagement of Dr Manmohan Singh when he arrives in Washington will be his meeting with President Obama , the second in less than six months, when the two leaders have the opportunity to review their bilateral ties that seen an upswing for some years now and share their view on the latest developments in the region including Afghanistan and other issues of regional and global concern. <br/><br/>Concerned over the dangers of nuclear arsenal getting into the hand of terrorists, has been piloting a resolution at the UN since 2002 on preventing terrorists from acquiring weapons of mass destruction and is also party to global architecture for of nuclear security like the convention on the physical protection of nuclear material and the global initiative to combat nuclear terrorism of 2006. <br/><br/>It has an impeccable record on nuclear non proliferation and it is this backdrop that India would be participating in the summit and is expected to spell out its initiative to contribute to the reduction of the nuclear terrorism.
