Riding on the high growth rate despite global economic melt down, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will present a 'report card' on the first year of performance of UPA II. The Report was scheduled to be unveiled on 22nd of last month, but it was cancelled in view of an Air crash in Mangalore claiming 158 lives. <br/><br/>The report card will highlight achievements of the government and chart out the future course of action. Though inflation continues a cause of concern for the government, it is expected to reach between 5 to 6 per cent by December this year giving much relief to the common man. The revise GDP for the last fiscal is now 7.4 per cent. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports Naxalism, Terrorism, Food Security, Climate Change are some of the important challenges for the government and it has already been indicated that the policy to deal with Naxal menace may be revisited. <br/><br/>On the international front, India has started discussions with Pakistan despite continued infiltration. The relations with Bangladesh and other neighboring countries have improved. <br/><br/>Despite UPA Chairperson Mrs.Sonia Gandhi's keen desire to pass the Women's Reservation Bill, there are some hurdles still in its passage in the Lok Sabha. <br/><br/>The Rajya Sabha has already passed it. Holistic reforms in the education sector are a major achievement of the UPA II with passage of several important legislations in Parliament including the important ‘The Right to Education Act’. This Act is expected to directly benefit at least one crore children.<br/>
