Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today launch a National Programme for street lighting and LED home lighting to reduce energy consumption.

According to the Ministry of Power, Prime Minister will also launch online pre registration to avail LED bulbs for households in the national capital.

It said that upto 2 LED lights will be distributed at an upfront payment of Rs. 10 each. The Ministry said, LED based light reduce energy consumption by 88 percent as compared to normal bulb.
