PM to launch National Agriculture Market portal tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch National Agriculture Market portal to connect e-mandis in several States at a function in New Delhi tomorrow. Online inter-connectivity of e-mandis is aimed at ushering in much needed agri marketing reforms to enable farmers to get better price of their produce. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said, e-trading portal connecting 21 mandis from eight states will also be launched. The States include Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkahnd, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. <br/><br/>The Minister informed that altogether 365 mandis from 12 states have been granted approval so far. The scheme was sanctioned with a budget of 200 crore rupees and with an aim to integrate 585 regulated markets with the common e-market platform by March 2018.
