Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the Conference of Chief Ministers’ on Internal Security in New Delhi on Monday. Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram will deliver the opening address.

An official release said, the meeting will review the internal security situation in the country. Police Reforms, capacity building and focus on ongoing and new initiatives are high on the agenda of the meeting. AIR correspondent reports, other issues to be deliberated upon include strengthening of counter terrorism capabilities and intelligence apparatus, Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & System (CCTNS), and issues related to Left Wing Extremism, border management and coastal security. Discussions on other Centre-State issues are also to be taken up in the meeting.
