The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the 5th Asian Regional Conference on Improvement in Efficiency of irrigation Projects through technology upgradation and better operation in New Delhi on 10th of this month.<br/><br/>Ministry of Water Resources and Central Water Commission (CWC) alongwith Indian National Committee of lrrigation & Drainage (INCID) are hosting the event.<br/><br/>The Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee and Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission will address the valedictory function on December 11.<br/><br/>About 700 professionals from about 45 countries including India to take part in the conference to deliberate issues like Modernization of public operated irrigation system and services, Public Private Partnership in irrigation development and management.<br/><br/>They will touch upon burning issues like integrated approach in agricultural drainage, capacity development for modern irrigation management, impact of climate change on water resources availability and crop productivity, legal aspect in sharing of water resources.<br/>
