PM to host dinner for BJP leaders tonight

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is hosting a dinner on Saturday night to senior BJP leaders ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament beginning Thursday. He will meet senior party leader L .K. Advani, Leader of Opposition in the Lok sabha, Sushma Swaraj and the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley. Dr Singh has reached out to all political parties for political consensus over various issues. The government hopes to pass important legislations beneficial to Aam Aadmi in the winter session.

On Friday, Dr. Singh has hosted a dinner to the UPA partners. Earlier, he had met Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati. Both the parties are extending outside support to the UPA government.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi Yesterday, Finance Minister P Chidambaram hoped that the winter session of Parliament will be productive and said very important issues concerning the welfare of the people are awaiting passage in Parliament.

AIR Correspondent reports that the Lokpal Bill and Whistle Blowers' bill are among the several important bills are likely to come up in the session.
