India and Russia are likely to sign agreements on joint production of multi-billion dollar jet fighter planes and building of more Russia-aided nuclear reactors. These agreements are expected to be signed after the delegation level talks between the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh and the visiting Russian President Dmitri Medvedev today. Mr Medvedev arrived in New Delhi last night on an official visit to India. He is accompanied by a large business delegation and senior ministers. The two countries are set to move beyond traditional areas of cooperation to focus on achieving the bilateral trade to 20 billion US Dollars by 2015. Addressing a plenary on Prospects of India-Russia Trade and Investment Relations Development, Commerce Minister Ananad Sharma invited Russain Businees magnets to invest in India in the infrastructure sector which has tremendous potential. The business houses of the two countries signed eight pacts in pharmaceuticals, scientific and technical cooperation and other important areas. The two countries decided to increase business interaction with a view to explore investment opportunities in new areas including mining and information technology. Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Elvira Nabiullina also addressed the forum. AIR correspondent reports six new ares of cooperation have been identified to take the bilateral cooperation to new heights as this year marks the tenth year of strategic partnership.
