Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting with Union Ministers to discuss long-term measures to address the concerns of cash-starved sugar mills. <br/><br/>Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and others are attending the meeting at Prime Minster's residence in New Delhi. Expediting payment of arrears of over 14 thousand crore rupees to sugar cane farmers is also likely to figure in the meeting. <br/><br/>Food Ministry has proposed various short and long term measures to overcome the crisis that includes mandatory higher exports, increased ethanol blending with petrol and expansion of co-generation power capacity.
