The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that he would discuss with his cabinet colleagues about extending 100 days employment under MNREGA to the industrial sector.

He disclosed this while talking to a delegation of leading industrialists of Ludhiana who raised some other issues also during their meeting with the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister was in the industrial town on Saturday to attend Golden Jubilee Convocation of Punjab Agriculture University.

President of District Congress Committee, Ludhiana (Urban) , Pawan Dewan, who was part of the delegation told AIR Jalandhar Correspondent that they suggested the extension of MNREGA to the industrial sector for entry level workers. The industrialists also asked for early implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Expansion and regularization of Ludhiana Airport for increasing connectivity with Delhi and other places was also raised during the meeting.
