The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will attend the Copenhagen Summit on climate change on the 18th of this month. According to PMO, Dr Singh will undertake a two-day visit from the 17th. Nearly 80 Presidents and Prime Ministers from across the world are expected to attend the two-day Summit on 17and 18.<br/><br/>Earlier this week, India had announced that it will voluntarily reduce the intensity of green house emission by 20 to 25 percent by 2020 but not accept any legally binding targets of emissions. The Environment Minister Mr Jairam Ramesh told Parliament that India is willing to do more if a comprehensive and equitable agreement is arrived at the Copebnhagen summit. While maintainig that there will no compromise on protecting India's interest, Mr Ramesh had said that India can show flexibility on support to mitigation action depending on the concessions it gets.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent says that the decision reflects the seriousness attached by India to the meet where it is expected to play a crucial role.<br/>
