In Assam, all preparations have been completed to celebrate the platinum jubilee of the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday next. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is scheduled to attend the function being organized at Dispur Secretariat complex. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across the State following a bandh call by the anti-talk faction of banned ULFA on the day of Prime Minister’s visit to Guwahati. The police have also reviewed the security scenario in the city and said that they would give no chance to any security lapse.Assam Assembly came into being on the day of its first sitting on 7th April, 1937
