Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address the valedictory session of a national conference on Doubling Farmers Income by 2022. <br/><br/>The conference was inaugurated by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi yesterday. <br/><br/>The two-day conference is being attended by agriculture scientists, experts and senior officials of central and state governments. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Union Agriculture Minister said, the poor, farmers and rural population have always been the focus of Narendra Modi government and this year's budget reflects that commitment. <br/><br/>Mr Singh said, the government is also focusing more on horticulture and food processing as it will help in doubling the farmers income. <br/><br/>He said, there is more focus on irrigation projects for Har Khet Ko Paani, provision of quality seeds to farmers, investment in warehousing and cold chains, promotion of value addition through food processing, creation of e-market, Fasal Bima Yojna and more funding for animal husbandry, horticulture and bee keeping.<br/>'<br/>The conference is being organised with a view to identify various critical issues relating to agriculture and farmers' welfare and finding appropriate solutions. <br/><br/>The main aim of the conference is to build a consensus around appropriate recommendations that will help in shaping the vision of the Government on Doubling Farmers' Income by 2022. <br/>'''''<br/>
