PM to address a function today to mark second anniversary of citizen engagement portal MyGov(dot)in

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a function organised in New Delhi today to mark the second anniversary of citizen engagement portal MyGov(dot)in. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister has often taken ideas for his programme 'Mann Ki Baat' from this portal. <br/><br/>The event will see participation from various stakeholders including Cabinet Ministers, senior officers from Ministries and Departments, government organisations, representatives from media, IT and social media industry and citizens who have participated in the MyGov initiatives. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that, Mr Modi is also likely to launch a mobile app for the Prime Minister's Office on the occasion. <br/>This will be a first Town Hall by an Indian Prime Minister. Citizens from various corners of the country will get the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister. <br/><br/>Town Hall as a concept is commonly used in the West among politicians as well as CEOs to interact with people directly. <br/><br/>During the event, Prime Minister will also launch new MyGov initiatives and distribute prizes to winners of MyGov contests. <br/><br/>The event will portray Jan Bhagidari in its true sense and will be streamed live on various social media channels and mobile apps. <br/><br/>MyGov was launched by Mr Modi in July 2014 to provide opportunity to the people to participate in multiple theme-based discussions and share their thoughts. <br/><br/>MyGov has 35.2 lakh registered members. The platform has several groups like Clean Ganga, Girl Child Education, Digital India, Food Security and Healthy India.
