PM: Talks are on to resolve Chinese incursion issue in Ladakh

Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh says, India does not want to accentuate the situation over the recent Chinese incursion in Ladakh and is working on a plan to resolve it. Replying to questions by reporters on the sidelines of the defence investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning, Dr. Singh said, New Delhi has a plan and does not want to accentuate the situation. He said, the governmwnt believes that it is possible to resolve the problem. Terming the incident a localised problem, Dr. Singh also said, he said talks are going on.

AIR correspondent reports, Chinese troops had entered inside the Indian Territory in Burthe in the DBO sector and established a tented post there. The government had on Friday told a parliamentary committee that Chinese troops have pitched tents 19 kilometers deep inside the Indian territory in Ladakh region. The Army has given its inputs to the government and the China study group headded by national security adviser. The group is handling the present situation in Ladakh. All the options suggested to the China study group are being looked at carefully and other stakeholders in the situation have also given their inputs. The Army had rushed its troops from the 5 Ladakh Scouts battalion to the DBO area and they are camping there.

The Prime Minster also anwered queries on other issues. Dr.Manmohan Singh said there is no question of Law Minister Ashwani Kumar's resignation over a CBI affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court in the coal scam. Prime Minister said, the issue is in court and subjudice. CBI director, Ranjit Sinha, had yesterday admitted in his affidavit that Kumar had asked him to show the copy of its report on the coal investigation before it was submitted to the Supreme Court.The opposition were demanding the minister's resignation over the issue.

Dr. Singh asked the opposition to allow the Parliament to function to discuss any issue. Dr. Singh said, we are making a mockery of the system by stalling parliament proceedings.

The Prime minister Manmohan Singh termed the attack on Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan jail as a very sad incident. He said, it was sad to hear that Sarabjit Singh was beaten by inmates in Pakistani jail.
