PM takes stock of demand-supply gap of food items

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took stock of the demand-supply gap in protein-rich food items including milk, egg, fish and the availability of fertilizers in the country. He held a meeting with Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati, Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi in this regard. Official Sources said, during the meeting, Modi was also briefed about the current availability of protein-rich items and steps to increase supplies by officials of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
