Union Minister for Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a mammoth task of cleansing the country's economic and monetary systems to propel the country on a development path.<br/><br/>Speaking after inaugurating the digital transaction stalls at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada this evening along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, at the two-day Digi Dhan Mela organised to promote cashless transactions, the Union Minister compared the Centre's initiatives to unleashing of a new chapter never happened before in the annals of the history of the country, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said all the transactions taking place across the country have come under the scanner and scrutiny now.<br/><br/>All through the 60 days post demonetization, he said, people have extended their wholehearted support to the Prime Minister despite facing hardship. The Union Minister said that the Centre has gone for MoUs with several countries to arrest and nab unscrupulous money transactions involving Indians. He assured that people need not worry for anything if all their earnings are lawful and made accountable. He expressed hope that tax slabs and interest rates would also come down drastically in future if all the unaudited money comes out once.<br/><br/>The Union Minister said that a silent economic revolution is currently taking place in the country to take the nation into the next orbital of development and progress, adding that transforming the country is just not the task of the government alone but also with the participation of each and every citizen of the country this can be achieved. Mr. Modi's mantra is to take the nation on the path of reform, to perform better and transform into a developed nation-a strong nation.<br/><br/>Expressing happiness for conducting Digi Dhan Mela on a large scale Mr. Venkaiah Naidu has asked the representatives of public and private banks, oil companies, common service centres, government trading agencies, and private digital service providers to encourage and promote more cashless transactions for a better society to augur.<br/><br/>Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said change for the betterment when it is inevitable should be accepted. He said financial inclusion is necessary for the benefits of development to reach all people equally, adding that only a selective few in the society are enjoying the labour and hardship of a large number of people. He emphasized accountability is the need of the hour and mobile transactions is only way out to reduce cash transactions. He appreciated the people's gesture in facing the hardships patiently after demonetization.<br/><br/>More than 80 stalls to educate people of all sections about e-wallets, RuPay Cards, Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) transactions. <br/>People in large numbers attended the first Digi Dhan Mela in the state displaying eagerness in learning the different ways of cashless transactions that are available. They were informed of the advantages in less cash economy and the methods to switch to the digital mode of transactions.
